Reminder

lizardsfromspace:

  • The Doctor can regenerate into a woman. The Corsair regenerated into male and female forms (“The Doctor’s Wife”)
  • The Doctor can change races while regenerating. Mels was black and regenerated into River Song (“Let’s Kill Hitler”)
  • These two facts are absolutely canon and so there is no way you can argue against such a change by saying the Doctor couldn’t possibly regenerate into something other than a white man

These two stunning people are Esther Quek and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and this has been a brief photo essay on “Twelfth Doctors I would be willing to accept”.

Matt Smith to leave Doctor Who

The BBC:

The BBC is today announcing that Matt Smith is to leave Doctor Who after four incredible years on the hit BBC One show.

Matt first stepped into the TARDIS in 2010 and will leave the role at the end of this year after starring in the unmissable 50th Anniversary in November and regenerating in the Christmas Special.

Called it.

mirroringlight:

That’s what interests me about The Doctor because, actually, look at the blood on the man’s hands. 900 years, countless very selfish choices, and he’s literally blown planets up. His own race, you know, that’s all on his hands. Which is why I think he has to make silly jokes and wear a fez. Because if he didn’t, he’d hang himself. - Matt Smith

Reasons I am excited for Not Doctor: I have wanted to see the Doctor deal with his demons for a very long time. My favorite episodes are when he has to face his own demons and contradictions.

I cannot express the sheer depth of my agreement with this sentiment.

The Other?
The (unseen) Ninth Morbius Doctor?
The Quack?
The Surgeon?
The Dentist?
Winston? (after 1984’s Winston Smith, a character played by both John Hurt and non-canonical “Doctor Who” Peter Cushing in those Milton Subotsky Dalek films)

no i know what to fall him
a fAKE

I vote for Mobius Double Reacharound Doctor, in honor of the gymnastics Moffat’s going to have to do to fit him into the established canon.

  • Doctor Who: on hiatus
  • Homestuck: on hiatus
  • Legend of Korra: on hiatus
  • Firefly: fuck everything

daccodacc replied to your post: I was just muttering to maspower about how much I…

How about that hunter guy from the dinosaurs on a spaceship ep?

I want my guy to be a little more contemporary and a little less flamboyant.

Fffffff, I’m going to wind up writing a character sketch and/or introduction for him, aren’t I?

I was just muttering to maspower about how much I wish for a normal confident contemporary male character who’s not completely overshadowed by the Doctor—preferably one who carries a weapon, can take care of himself, and doesn’t lose his head in a crisis—and that’s when I realised what I was saying:

I’m pretty sure I want a Republican in the TARDIS.

NO. I’m disowning Stephen Moffat for the ending of this episode.

According to the latest official Word of God canon, this episode does not actually shorten the lifespan of Doctor Who in any way whatsoever.

Just so you know.
