(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

Article 124 of the United States Uniform Code of Military Justice is titled “Maiming”. Article 126 is titled “Arson”. Article 125 is “Sodomy”, which forbids United States soldiers of any gender identity or sexual orientation from engaging in anal or oral sex. Violation of Article 125 is grounds for a court-martial.
I wonder what else qualifies as “unnatural carnal copulation”. BDSM? A foot fetish? And more importantly, is there a kind of copulation that is not carnal?
