Fleeting moments of internet interest.

by Jonas Wisser

I blame Jacquelynn for this.

ten years ago I was:

Eleven.  Which means middle school, which means the most miserable time of my life.  I was bitter, cynical, and convinced I’d never have a girlfriend.  I was also getting straight As without having to work at all.  How times have changed.

five things on today’s to do list:

   1. Upload more of my photos from the UK to Flickr to make sure I don’t lose them.
   2. Get Tumblr up and running (check).
   3. Watch the Daily Show.
   4. Eat more food.
   5. Look forward to being around more people my own age.

things I’d do if I were a billionaire:

   1. {build “the house” (green, sustainable, neomodern, has a huge library, located somewhere warm and beautiful)} This was Jacquelynn’s response, and I pretty much agree, except for replacing “somewhere warm and beautiful” with “in Woodstock or Scotland” and possibly “neomodern” with “in a historical style”.
   2. Fill the house with a maxed-out Mac Pro, top-of-the-line Macbook, a cat or two, and lots of books.  Oh, also furniture and food.
   3. Make sure my parents got to live in a nice house, somewhere they like.  Maybe a couple of nice houses.
   4. Make sure all my friends go through the rest of their college careers for free.
   5. Set up a foundation that would help improve education in inner city and rural schools in the US.  The whole world needs help, but you can best help other people once you’ve helped yourself.

three bad habits:

   1. Sorry, what?  I was doing 12 other things and didn’t catch the question.
   2. Procrastinating.  Even on things I don’t mind doing.
   3. Falling for harmful girls.  No, wait; falling for off-limits girls.  No, wait; just falling for girls.

places I have lived:

   1. Oberlin, Ohio
   2. A tent in Oyne, Insch, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
   3. Nazareth, Pennsylvania
   4. Kutztown, Pennsylvania
   5. Marbletown, New York
   6. Tilson, New York
And a bunch of others I was too young to remember…

five jobs I’ve had in my life:

   1. Help Desk consultant at Oberlin College.
   2. {college student} Is this allowed? It’s not really a job…
   3. Historical Interpretation Guide at Archaeolink Prehistory Park
   4. Cashier at the Dollar Tree
   5. Lawn mower, snow shoveler, and jack of all trades.
