What the fuck is going on down there?
Excellent question.
I first wrote about this in October 2008 for Australia’s Marketing Magazine, and since then the issue has seen little if any sense added to it by the Government. Other parties have tried to take the Government to task on it, such as this case from the Green’s Scott Ludlam, however it has thus far had little effect.
This move would leave Australia with one of the most restrictive media policies of any democratic country in the world; an absolute embarassment for a Prime Minister who was elected on aims for the country’s children being no less than a “digital education revolution”.
It’s a move level-headed people everywhere find bizarre, and we’d appreciate the rest of the democratic world raising a bit of a ruckus, if you wouldn’t mind.
