Fleeting moments of internet interest.

About a year and a half ago, I decided to stop being a pack rat and significantly reduce the number of things I owned. One of the first areas I decided to tackle was my wardrobe. As a twenty-something graphic designer, it’s easy for me to go to work in the same clothes I would wear going out. And, at 6’0” 145 lbs, trying to find clothing that fits well in the U.S. is not a very pleasant experience.

So I donated my dress shirts to Goodwill, bought a couple dozen American Apparel tees and A.P.C. raw denim jeans and basically don’t spend any time thinking about what I’m going to wear in the morning. The system has worked pretty well for the summer months, if you’re willing to look like a cartoon character and wear the same thing every day, but there are still a few areas that need improvement, especially for winter months.

Something interesting to try if your wardrobe doesn’t have to be fancy.

As soon as I have income, I am going to start compiling an entirely new, attractively simple, internally consistent wardrobe.

Well, just as soon as I buy some new shoes.
